Smoke Eagles Flying Group Invites Pilots to Attend Monthly Meetings

Involved in professional investigations since 2004, Michael Singleton owns and works as investigator for Ironhorse Investigative Services in Norwalk, CA. In addition, Michael Singleton holds a commercial helicopter pilot license and belongs to the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA).

Operating from offices in Maryland, Kansas, and the District of Columbia, the AOPA hopes to generate an interest in general aviation. Organized more than 75 years ago, it educates the public about aircraft, prepares educational and training material about piloting, and advocates for aviation with government officials. The AOPA is the world's largest community of pilots.

The AOPA also offers flying clubs so members can meet others who share their passion for flight. The Smoke Eagles, based out of Fullerton Municipal Airport in Fullerton, California, was established more than five decades ago. The nonprofit group was founded by a group of firefighters, and that’s how the name of the group was chosen. Today the Smoke Eagles have 30 members as well as two Cessna aircraft, the 172K and 182Q, which are housed at the airport.

To encourage new membership, the Smoke Eagles host monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of the month. People gather at the classroom found at the AFI Flight Training Center. Afterward, attendees are invited to enjoy pizza and mingle with others.
